Democracy is a universal value based on the freely expressed will of people to determine their
own political, economic, social and cultural systems and their full participation in all aspects of
life. Our support for International Democracy Day stems from our core belief that democracy requires the participation of all citizens. The occasion of International Day of Democracy holds much importance for the world’s largest democracy, India. The students of Grades 2 and 3 of Presidium Kalyan Vihar marked this day with a special assembly. They prepared an informative skit depicting the lack of democracy rule in various countries and how democracy is important for the growth of a nation and the world as a whole. Young Presidians also presented speeches on the importance of celebrating such a day. The assembly ended with a pledge to uphold the values our Constitution - the written testament of our democratic existence.
