The forest is a complex ecosystem consisting mainly of trees that buffer the earth and support a myriad of life forms. The importance of forests cannot be underestimated, we depend on forests for our survival, from the air we breathe to the wood we use. To bring a better understanding about the theme “Forest” a virtual academic activity was organized for students of Grade 5 wherein the students learnt about different types of trees, tribes, forest etc. The students prepared a creative project in which they pasted pictures of different types of trees with elaborated information that was showcased in the online class. The students learnt about the significance of the trees that are vital and give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilise the soil and life to the world's wildlife. Many students also shared that the trees give us clothes, wood for fuel, paper, rubber, herbs for curing diseases, cold or shade in summer. The activity concluded with the note that without trees, survival is impossible as there will be no food for animals or human beings.
